Amazon describes the book “The Four Agreements” as offering a powerful code of conduct that can
rapidly transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, true happiness, and love. The author reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering.

I describe is as the “best book per word” I have ever read.   This series is on the subsequent book “The 5th Agreement.”
Where they cover and expand upon the original 4 agreements – and add new wisdom.

Listening is so important in communication. When you learn to listen, you know exactly what other people want.  Even if it’s just enrollment in their idea.   Just because other people want something, that doesn’t mean you have to give them what they want.

If you don’t learn to listen correctly, you will jump to conclusions, and react like it’s your dream, when it’s not your dream.

I am only one half of the message; you are the other half.

I am responsible for what I say, but I am not responsible for what you understand.
You are responsible for what you understand; you are responsible for whatever you do with what you hear in your head, because you are the one who gives the meaning to every word that you hear.

There is an old saying:   If I were to hit you in the head right now, that’s my fault.  Whatever happens right now in this room, is my fault.   Everything that happens when you leave the room is your fault.   Any feelings of victimhood, questioning ‘why’, hatred, paranoia – is technically all your fault.

So when I say don’t believe yourself, oh my goodness, can you see the implication? Don’t believe everything you learned! Not believing yourself is a huge advantage, because most of what you learned is not the truth.

Use the power of doubt to challenge every message that you deliver to yourself. “Is it really true that I’m ugly? Is it really true that I’m not good enough?” Is this message real, or is it virtual?

None of these messages come from truth, from life; they come from distortions in our knowledge. Your personal dream may even be pure hell because believing in lies is how you create your own hell.

If you’re having a bad experience in life, it’s not because anybody is making you suffer; it’s because you obey the tyrant that’s ruling your head. When the tyrant obeys you, when there’s no longer a judge or a victim in your mind, you won’t be suffering any longer.

Nobody judges you more than you judge yourself. But how can you escape from your own thoughts?

When you’re skeptical, you don’t believe yourself, you don’t believe anybody else, then none of these opinions can disturb you or throw you off your center.

When you understand The 5th Agreement, you will see the reason why you don’t need to believe what you can see, what you already know without words. It’s something that you just know; it’s something that you can feel without words, and it’s called silent knowledge.

Silent knowledge is what you know before you invest your faith in symbols. You don’t know this truth – you feel it.  There’s nothing to know; there’s nothing to justify.

What I’m sharing with you isn’t easy to understand, and at the same time, it’s so simple that it’s obvious. When you go beyond symbols, what you find is a world of perfection where everyone and everything in creation is perfect.

Once you recover all the power you invested in symbols – YOU HAVE MORE POWER.  The Power is YOURS

When you understand other people’s stories, and they can understand yours, then together you can create the most beautiful dream. But first you need to unlearn a lot, and the fifth agreement is another perfect tool for that.

Be skeptical, but learn to listen and then make your choices. Be responsible for every choice you make in your life. This is your life; it’s nobody else’s life, and you will find that it’s nobody else’s business what you do with your life.
