This is a great one to practice on ourselves AND others.
With both, need to assume Positive Intent. Meaning that we are all doing the best we can to make decision and take actions with the intention of positive change. Either for ourselves and others.
It won’t always be right, of course. Though, if you try to consider what positive intent someone THINKS THEY ARE SEEKING it will make it easier to understand, build rapport, and possibly influence.
What was their expectation and what gain did you or the other anticipate? Was it reasonable? Can a similar goal still be achieved?
