The CEO’s of Amazon and Twitter made meetings more productive and less lame
………… and you should copy them

Jeff Bezos and Jack Dorsey are among the highly successful CEOs who’ve banned PowerPoint, electing instead to start meetings with participants silently reading a hard-copy document (a.k.a. a “briefing document”).

I have also been a proponent of having recurring, status-check meetings in the afternoon – instead of morning.   For most people, middle of morning is the most productive time of the day.   So don’t break that up with a meeting that doesn’t result in specific, critical action items.   If the meeting isn’t interesting/important enough to do at 3:30 or 4:00 in the afternoon – maybe it should just be an email or a Zoom meeting.
